Young Adults Experience Israel Through the Onward Program

Last week, 22 college-aged participants on Miami’s Onward Israel Summer Internship Program visited Federation’s partner city of Yerucham to learn about the relationship between the two communities. From dusk ‘til dawn, students painted Moroccan-style tiles at Studio Zuak, lunched with the Culinary Queens of Yerucham and volunteered at Yerucham Vineyard. The activities allowed the group to meet the locals and better understand how each city benefits from the partnership and witness all that we are able to accomplish together. The students are making memories while having an amazing chavaya (experience) and will return to Miami on July 27. Onward Israel is an eight-week professional internship program in Tel Aviv for Miami-Dade County college students. Participants build their resumes through internships with Israeli peers while immersing themselves in the land and culture of Israel. The highly subsidized program is supported by Federation, The Jewish Agency for Israel, the Beacon and Shapira Foundations and other philanthropists.
