Yerucham Artist-in-Residence Shares Zuak With Miami Community

Yerucham artist-in-residence, Hadasa Yitshak, recently spent a week in Miami sharing her original art form of Zuak with Miami’s Jewish community. She was joined by fellow artist and director of the Yerucham Design Terminal, Yael Rom. Inspired by traditional Moroccan Arabesque design based primarily on patterns and geometry, Yitshak combined this centuries-old style with up-to-date technology and materials. Throughout the week, Yitshak held workshops for children and adults at the three Federation-supported Jewish community centers in Miami. The tiles made at the Miami Beach JCC will be used to create a new community art installation. The programs were made possible through a grant funded by the Miami-Yerucham Partnership, which builds meaningful people-to-people relationships between residents of the two cities. Read more.
