Federation Program Addressing Ongoing Mental Health Care

Federation is addressing the surge in mental health care needs in northern Israel with its support of the mobile Road to Resilience program. Created by the Jaffa Institute, an Israeli nonprofit assisting disadvantaged residents of Greater Tel Aviv-Jaffa and Bet Shemesh, the versatile project was initiated in response to October 7. RV trailers, formerly converted into mobile science labs, are now being used to deliver educational and therapeutic activities to individuals in northern border communities with limited infrastructure. Grants from Federation’s Israel Emergency Fund is facilitating Road to Resilience’s expansion to the Upper Galilee. Services include photographic therapy for children, cooking therapy for the elderly and therapeutic groups for teens and children with special needs.
