Promoting Inclusion, This Disability Pride Month and Always

July is Disability Pride Month and Federation’s Miami Jewish Abilities Alliance (MJAA) offers resources to help celebrate and support Jewish Miamians with disabilities. With more than one in four adults — 70+ million people — disabled in the US, Disability Pride Month is a time to affirm that disabilities are a natural and valuable part of human diversity by promoting inclusion throughout the community. Click here to learn why and how to mark its observance throughout July. For those with disabilities aged 2-30, the MJAA website includes a listing of inclusive summer camps and programs at Miami-Dade JCCs, parks, universities and more. And with hurricane season upon us, MJAA provides an online guide, Disaster Preparedness & Disability, with how-to tips on staying informed and being hurricane-ready in advance. Visit Miami.JewishAbilities.org for guidance and opportunities in all aspects of life for people with disabilities of all ages.
