Become a Spiritual Caregiver With Refuat Ha-Nefesh

Mishkan Miami: The Jewish Connection for Spiritual Support is beginning a new cohort of volunteer training to help older adults who are seeking support and companionship. This meaningful volunteer experience, led by rabbis, chaplains, doctors and social workers, educates participants on how to engage with individuals who are lonely, ill or in need of companionship. As we mark more than 18 months of the pandemic, many seniors — especially those who are sick or homebound — are seeking friendship and connection. Trainings will take place virtually on 13 Tuesday evenings beginning November 9, 2021. If possible, based on CDC guidelines, three in-person sessions will be offered, while online options will continue to be available. Applications are due by Friday, October 22 in order to schedule an interview. Click here to apply. For more information, please contact [email protected].
