Supporting Local Holocaust Survivors

Through a $200,000 grant, Federation is continuing to provide critical programming and social services for Holocaust survivors in Miami, as well as care for other older adults who have experienced trauma. The funds are part of a federal grant from the Administration for Community Living, secured through the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA). Locally, this funding supports 10 partner programs and provides emergency financial assistance through our longtime social services partner, Jewish Community Services of South Florida, to address urgent survivor needs. Since 2015, JFNA’s Center on Aging, Trauma and Holocaust Survivor Care has assisted Jewish and non-Jewish agencies, reaching nearly 50,000 Holocaust survivors and more than 16,000 older adults with a history of trauma.
