Supporting Surfside

What does it mean for the Greater Miami Jewish Federation to be here for the community in ordinary and extraordinary times? For victims of the tragic collapse of Surfside’s Champlain Towers South, it means that we have distributed $645,000 of need-based financial assistance so residents of the building can begin to replace the critical items they lost such as clothes, cell phones and other essential goods. More than 8,000 donors from all around the world have helped us raise more than $2.2 million, 100% of which goes to help those directly affected. If you or someone you know needs financial assistance, food, counseling, bereavement support or is facing other challenges, please call 2-1-1. Operated by JCS, the free confidential helpline can guide you to the services you need.
