Supporting the Unique Needs of Ethiopian-Israelis

Recognizing the unique challenges of those who have immigrated to Israel from Ethiopia, Federation supports programs that help them acclimate to our spiritual homeland. Federation’s Ethiopian-Israeli Initiative provides ongoing services for olim (immigrants) in absorption centers, while funding holistic after-school scholastic, emotional, social and nutritional support. It also facilitates youth empowerment programs in Pardes Channa and Be’er Sheva and academic guidance and mentorship for high school students in Yemin Orde Youth Village. Digital literacy, cybersecurity training and employment courses are helping professionals and seniors become confident, accomplished members of Israeli society. Free legal assistance is available for those navigating the justice system. Since the early 1950s, our Federation has helped more than 95,000 Ethiopians settle in Israel.
