Teens Advocating Together Concludes at the Florida Capitol

Last week, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the NAACP brought a diverse group of 15 teenagers to Tallahassee for a special Advocacy Day. The visit to Florida’s Capitol was the culmination of Teens Advocating Together. The four-week leadership program unites black and Jewish teens to learn about civics, bridge-building and politics and is an annual partnership between the JCRC and NAACP. The group prepared for the notable day throughout the duration of the program, which included seven interactive workshops. During their time in Tallahassee, the teens met with a bipartisan delegation of State Senators and Representatives about three legislative items they were passionate about: education, security grants and public health.
