Two Israeli Communities Come Together Through Federation

Demonstrating the power of connection, Federation’s longtime partner city Yerucham recently hosted leaders from Kibbutz Or HaNer, a community on the Gaza border that was devastated by Hamas’ brutal attacks on October 7. As the kibbutz works on rebuilding, they’ve taken inspiration from Yerucham, a small city in the Negev that is thriving through ongoing relationships between its residents and Jewish Miami. Last month, kibbutz leaders toured Yerucham and shared in a homemade lunch and creative workshop. The experience strengthened both relationships and showed how community ties can create meaningful connections. For the past year, Federation has been working closely with Or HaNer to provide financial and emotional support as they continue to heal from the economic and physical losses and trauma of that horrible day.
