Federation Prioritizes Mental Health and Resiliency Work

As we watch the released living hostages take their first delicate steps back into the loving arms of their families and Israeli society, the work of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and our partners remains critical, as does our resolve to support them. Since the barbaric attacks of October 7, providing mental health services and rebuilding individual, communal and national resilience have been priorities. This cause has taken on even more urgency in the wake of recent testimonials from the freed hostages detailing their horrific confinement and torture. Nationally, nearly $34 million has been allocated to a variety of resources including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention and PTSD treatment for victims of terror. Yet there is still much work to be done. Click here to watch a short video about Shani, one of many Israelis who received help from Federation to face the lasting trauma of October 7.
