Women’s Impact Initiative Announces 2019 Grants

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation Women’s Impact Initiative announced $53,000 in grants to be distributed to 11 local agencies that support the unique needs of Jewish women and girls in Miami-Dade County.  The grant recipients are innovative programs that address challenging issues and promote social, economic, religious and political equality for women and girls in our community. Tiffany Zientz Heckler chairs this unique endeavor. “I am very proud of the thoughtful and committed group of women who are on this committee,” she said. “They visited each and every grant applicant and provided thorough research and informed opinions to assist us all in selecting this year’s organizations.”

This year’s grants support a range of programs, from providing girls in foster care with life skills training to offering observant Jewish women artists opportunities to express their talent to screening women for genetic diseases. Zientz Heckler added, “The Women’s Impact Initiative grant recipients are all doing important work to improve the lives of Jewish women and girls in our community. They are focused on keeping women and girls in our Jewish Community connected and healthy for generations to come.”
