Safeguarding Women in Israel

Amutot

With support from Federation Women’s Amutot Initiative, Tahel - the Crisis Center for Religious Women, produced two educational videos focusing on how to prevent sexual abuse in religious/ultra-Orthodox communities in Israel. The films, one for young women entering the military or national service and one for those in the workplace, are used in workshops for young adults and educators and are an effective tool to promote learning and change behavior. To facilitate their use, the films are available online in English and in Hebrew. Click here to watch the video in English. Since 2003, the Women’s Amutot Initiative has allocated nearly $4.5 million from the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign to agencies in Israel that help improve the lives of Israeli women, making Federation one of the largest funders of women’s causes in the country.
