Women’s Amutot Initiative Helps Israelis Dealing With Domestic Abuse

Survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse in Southern Israel receive emergency services and counseling through Maslan, a rape crisis center in the Negev, funded in part by your contributions to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign. Maslan runs a 24-hour emergency hotline offering guidance and support in eight languages. Last year, more than 13,000 women turned to the hotline for help. Maslan is one of more than 20 nonprofits that receive Federation grants through the Women’s Amutot Initiative, which helps organizations focused on improving the social, political and economic conditions of Israeli women.
