Yerucham: A Highlight During the Israel Study Trip

During Federation's recent Israel Study Trip, participants visited Miami’s partnership city of Yerucham, where they saw Federation dollars at work. One of the programs that Federation supports is the city’s robotics team. The group met with students and teachers from the team who shared some of their recent work, which includes teaching displaced children who have been living in Dead Sea-area hotels since October 7, assisting Bedouin groups in establishing their team and participating in the Israel Space Agency project, which launched a satellite into space. Miamians also spent time with students involved in Youth Futures, a national intervention program that pairs mentors with at-risk children; witnessed the dedication of a new Magen David Adom ambulance, purchased with the help of Jewish Miami donors; and joined the dedication of the Miami-Yerucham Partnership Roundabout (pictured above), which underscores the significance of our Partnership. Read more about the group’s time in Israel.
