Greater Miami Jewish Federation
EDUCATING AND BUILDING JEWISH IDENTITY
Creating environments where young people can develop Jewish identity and build leadership skills helps to secure a strong Jewish future. Through the Annual
Campaign, Federation provides ongoing funding to programs benefiting children and teens in Miami, in Israel and around the world. Your support sustains Jewish educational institutions, youth groups and Israel experiences, as well as student scholarships for Jewish day schools, congregational religious schools and overnight summer camps.
Without such efforts, many children would not have the chance to interact with other Jews and learn about Jewish life and traditions.
- More than $2 million in direct grants to 12 Jewish day schools and 11 congregational religious schools in Miami, touching the lives of more than 5,000 students
- Funding to help 745 young adults experience the wonders of Israel through Alexander Muss High School in Israel, Masa Israel Journey, Taglit-Birthright Israel and other life-changing programs.
- A connection to Israel and Judaism for 4,300 young students in the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe through Sunday School
programming and summer camp experiences provided by The Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee
“Out of many Jewish practices I've learned in
camp, the most essential one, I believe, is Shabbat.
Now, not only do I know all of the prayers
recited on Shabbat, but I know the meaning and
story behind most of them.”
- Helena, who attended Jewish overnight summer camp for
the first time with help from a Federation scholarship
