In addition to collaborating on a thriving robotics exchange program in our partnership city of Yerucham, Israel, Federation recently supported another tech initiative in the Negev region: a 36-hour Hackathon, sponsored in part by the Negev Funding Coalition (NFC).

The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, invites you to Holocaust Education Week 2017. Learn about the Allies’ response to the Holocaust via political cartoons; attend a community read and discussion of Night by Elie Wiesel, z”l; discover the Yiddish songs and poems borne of the creative resistance movement in the Warsaw Ghetto; and much more.

The Miami Jewish Film Festival (MJFF), a program of Federation subsidiary agency, the Center for the Advancement of Jewish Education (CAJE), returns to celebrate its milestone 20th anniversary from January 12 through 26, 2017.

This year, nearly $300,000 was allocated from Federation’s Annual Campaign to the Women’s Amutot Initiative, which supports 25 different nonprofit organizations in Israel that empower women to improve Israeli society by promoting social, economic, religious and political equality.

Federation’s Create a Jewish Legacy (CJL) program recently celebrated a special 5-year milestone at Temple Beth Sholom.The event honored the work of Federation’s 13 partner agencies in securing legacy gifts along with the power of community that has been the foundation of CJL’s achievements.

A number of students from University of Miami’s Hillel, one of seven Federation-supported Hillels throughout the state, recently participated in Birthright Israel.

Federation partner agency, The Jewish Agency for Israel, gathered 100 new olim (immigrants) from 29 countries to light the “global chanukiah” (menorah) last week in their new homeland.

The Board of Directors and staff of the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach have joined with 90 Holocaust remembrance organizations and 71 Holocaust scholars of the Association of Holocaust Organizations to strongly condemn the recent surge in racially charged rhetoric and blatantly bigoted behaviors that have been cropping up in communities across the United States.

Mark your calendar to join Women’s Philanthropy April 24 - 26 for a Social Action & Civil Rights Journey Through a Jewish Lens. Tour important historic sites in Montgomery, Selma and Birmingham, Alabama while learning about Jewish involvement in the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s and the present-day implications.

Three Miami Beach brothers — Jared, Koby and Evan Resnick — recently raised $14,300 for the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach. Conceived by 14-year-old Jared as a Bar Mitzvah project for his brother Koby, the Quarterbacks for the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach event enlisted 50 young athletes and local event sponsors for a flag football tournament on December 4 at the Galbut Family Miami Beach Jewish Community Center.
