2014 Lions Conference (Day 1)

Jewish Federations of North America

2014-09-07, TBD to TBD

Spurred by the incredibly successful Lion’s Conference, where a landmark 1,700 women raised more than $27 million for Jewish Federations, the Lions will return for the biennial event to New York City, Sept. 7-10, 2014 at the Marriott Marquis Times Square. “Can you imagine what it feels like to be among thousands of Jewish women, all passionately devoted to the Jewish world, each in her own way?” Pava said. “From the moment I walk into an International Lion of Judah Conference, the electricity and excitement is palpable.” Women from the worlds of business, philanthropy and public service -- and women whose lives Federation has changed -- will share their stories throughout this premier women’s event. The conference gathers together the world’s top Jewish women leaders, who give a minimum gift of $5,000 annually. “There are women who come committed to philanthropy, to education, to religious pluralism, to Israel, to the arts, to youth, to culture, to social action, to politics,” Pava added. “You name it and we will have a session dedicated to it, led by Jewish women experts in these fields.” Judy Altenberg, who is a co-chair of the conference from Colorado, along with Suzanne Barton Grant, of Delaware, sees great things for the Lions in 2014. “We want women to feel inspired to act, either politically, financially or through social action, so they make a difference in the lives and communities of Jews around the world.” View the video at http://vimeo.com/49773052 REGISTRATION OPENS IN NOVEMBER
