Federation is helping young adults in Ukraine pursue leadership roles in the Jewish community. Through Metsuda, a year-long young leadership course offered by Federation’s overseas partners, the America Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, this next generation of Ukrainian Jews is learning the power of tzedakah and tikkun olam.

Recognizing that Jewish overnight camps greatly contributes to a child’s Jewish identity and values, the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign is now accepting applications for need-based Jewish overnight camp scholarships for children between the ages of 8 and 17 for next summer.

Miami and Yerucham’s Jewish teens are benefiting from Federation’s Miami-Yerucham partnership through HaZamir, two of the more than 38 chapters across the U.S. and Israel that are part of the network of the International Jewish Teen Choir.

Nearly 700 Venezuelan Jews—or 10 percent of the country’s Jewish population—attended the first-ever Limmud Caracas this past Sunday. Sponsored in part by our overseas partner, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the festival offered more than 30 sessions aimed at deepening residents’ connections to their Jewish identity.

PJ Library wants to help you host a Chanukah gathering! Designed to help build social connections and inspire Jewish life and learning, PJ Library Get Together Grants will give PJ Library members up to $150 to create and host a Chanukah celebration or other Jewish-inspired experience during the month of December.

Onward Israel is looking for exceptional, career-minded college students in Miami-Dade County. Participants will spend eight weeks this summer in a professional internship while living in Tel Aviv, strengthening their Jewish identity and exploring Israel’s land and culture.

Thank you, Miami! Because of your generosity, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation raised more money than any other organization for the fourth year in a row with a total of $507,000 on Give Miami Day, a $30,000 increase from last year.

Federation is helping engage Hebrew-speaking, Israeli-American children through the Miami chapter of Tzofim (Israeli Scouts). Partnering with the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center (MARJCC) and Friends of Israel Scouts, Tzofim promotes leadership and Israeli culture while focusing on Jewish values.

More than 10 years ago, Women’s Philanthropy of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation took a stand to support survivors of domestic abuse, and their efforts resulted in Shalom Bayit (Peace in the Home).

Recognizing that grandparents play an important role in solidifying the Jewish legacy, Federation is participating in a unique new program. Working with our overseas partner, The Jewish Agency for Israel, and utilizing the Partnership2Gether initiative as a foundation, G2: Global Intergenerational Initiative will pair grandparents with their pre-teen (5-8^th grade) grandchildren to share their Jewish experiences and values.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is proud to announce that the Hebrew Free Loan Association of South Florida (HFLA) is now a subsidiary agency of Federation.Since 1989, HFLA has been offering interest-free loans to Jewish individuals and families in need. HFLA has provided over 600 interest-free loans during the past three decades totaling more than $2 million.
