With the High Holidays just a few weeks away, now is the best time to join a synagogue.

If you missed the Federation webinar “On the Ground in Ukraine: Reports From the Front Lines of the Refugee Crisis” earlier this month, the video is now available online.

This past Tuesday, Federation placed a full-page ad in the Miami Herald addressing Pink Floyd co-founder and vocalist Roger Waters, who performed that evening in Miami for the second time in five years.

In anticipation of an August 23 performance in Miami by Pink Floyd’s co-founder Roger Waters, Federation has published an ad regarding his vile messages of anti-Semitism, anti-Zionism and hatred.

As Ukrainians continue to flee their war-torn country, many are coming to Miami, and our Jewish community is providing a much-needed welcome and services to help them acclimate to their new home.

More than 725 people have already registered for Federation's Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission, taking place April 20-27, 2023, which features eight over-the-top Mega Events including Voices of Israel: The Tribute Concert in Celebration of Israel 75.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation will be one of four South Florida Federations to participate in the Keshet Leadership Project, which trains organizations to ensure LGBTQ+ individuals feel a sense of belonging in the Jewish community.

Spiritual connections are more important than ever for the High Holidays this year. Although our traditional High Holiday Welcome Program is not possible this year, Federation encourages our community members to connect to the wide variety of creative offerings being provided by Miami synagogues.

In our continuing efforts to help those experiencing food insecurity, Federation will host another Free Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru on Friday, August 19 from 9 to 11 a.m.

Three eyewitnesses to the ongoing refugee crisis in Ukraine and the region will provide their reports during a Greater Miami Jewish Federation webinar on Tuesday, August 16, and participants will also learn where donations to the Ukraine Emergency Fund are making a difference.

Applications are still being accepted for Diller Teen Fellowships 2022-2023, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Jewish 10th and 11th graders to become advocates for the greater good in their own communities.

Mazal tov to the teens who represented Miami’s three Jewish community centers and competed in the 2022 JCC Maccabi Games in San Diego. Teams from the Miami Beach JCC (MBJCC), Michael-Ann Russell JCC (MARJCC) and Alper JCC made our community proud in basketball, volleyball, flag football, tennis, dance and more.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation and its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM) condemn in the strongest possible terms the barrage of hundreds of rockets fired from Gaza into Israel over the last several days by Palestinian Islamic Jihad, a terrorist organization whose ideals are inspired by the 1979 Iranian Revolution.

Federation leadership recently returned from a powerful visit to the frontlines of the Ukrainian refugee crisis. Women’s Philanthropy Campaign Chair Elise Udelson and Director Ofi Osin-Cohen were among 34 representatives from Jewish communities across North America who traveled to Poland to meet with refugees.

Following five months of images and videos coming out of Ukraine, now you can hear firsthand reports from three people who have personally helped or met with refugees and those on the ground in Ukraine and Poland.

More than 1,550 amazing young Israelis are spending their summer as counselors, Israeli culture specialists, song leaders and more at Jewish summer camps across North America.

Registration is now open for the 20th anniversary year of Milk & Honey Volunteer Drive-Thru & Drop-Off, taking place Sunday, September 18, presented by Jewish Community Services of Florida (JCS) and Federation.
