Short Term Israel Programs

Taglit-Birthright Israel

Thanks to this popular program, young Jews between the ages of 18 and 26 are given the gift of a free, first-time 10-day educational trip to Israel. The trip aims to strengthen participants’ Jewish identity by building lasting bonds with the land and people of Israel, and reinforcing the solidarity of the Jewish people worldwide.

After participants return home, the Greater Miami Jewish Federation offers them many opportunities to remain connected and involved in the Jewish community.

Long Term Israel Programs

Masa Israel

Masa Israel Journey offers immersive, life-changing, gap-year, study-abroad, post-college and volunteer experiences in Israel to young adults ages 18-30. Masa Israel connects them to programs that meet their interests, offering scholarships, providing expertise and supporting them throughout the entire process.

Greater Miami Jewish Federation support helps make Masa-affiliated Israel experiences possible for hundreds of young Miamians to spend a semester or a year in Israel, where they can build a lifelong relationship with Israel and a firm commitment to Jewish life. The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is proud to support Masa Israel’s work, both by Annual Federation/UJA Campaign allocations, and by hosting a local staff person to work with young adults looking for Israel opportunities.

For more information, email [email protected] or call 786.866.8458. Read more about Masa Israel.

Grants and Scholarships

Masa Israel makes it easier for young adults to go to Israel, offering grants and scholarships to help make the experience more affordable, and collecting information about other grants and scholarships available for long-term Israel programs from third-party organizations. All Masa Israel participants are eligible to apply for universal grants and need-based scholarships.

Masa Alumni Opportunities

Once you sign up for a Masa Israel program, you’re always a member of the Masa Israel community! Upon their return home, Masa participants become part of the Masa Israel Alumni Community, a network of young Jewish adults who want to stay connected to their friends, to Israel and to Jewish life.

The Alumni Community is your connection to jobs, professional development resources, service opportunities and Jewish leadership training. To learn more and get involved, join the Masa Israel Community site.
