At Jewish Miami, we are committed to protecting your privacy online. While using our website, you do not have to identify yourself or divulge personal information. If you should choose to give us your personal information, you decide the amount of information you wish to provide. The JewishMiami.org “Site” is owned and operated by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. All references to Jewish Miami herein shall be deemed to include the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

How do we protect your information?

Our site links to a number of other websites. Jewish Miami is not responsible for the content or the privacy policies of these websites. We encourage you to read the privacy statements for each website you visit. Jewish Miami will occasionally update this Privacy Policy as changes to the site necessitate it. When Jewish Miami posts changes to this Policy, you will see the word “updated” next to the Privacy Policy link on the homepage of this website. We encourage you to periodically review this Policy to be informed of how we are protecting your information.

I. INFORMATION THAT WE COLLECT

If you choose to become a Jewish Miami Member, we will ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including your name, ZIP code and email address. We will also ask you to provide certain information about yourself. This is a standard process to enhance the safety and maintain the integrity of the Site for all our Members.

II. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

Your information assists us in understanding the kinds of benefits and programs that may suit your needs and interests. Other than as described in this Privacy Policy, we do not share personally identifiable information collected from you in connection with the Site with any third parties outside, unless you authorize us to do so.

On forms on the Site we may ask for your name, address, telephone number, email address or other information. We may obtain information about you from outside sources and add it to or combine it with the information we collect through this site. We are committed to protecting your privacy online.

We will use your email address to provide you news and information about the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Jewish Miami or events of interest.

From time to time, we may engage the services of others to perform functions on our behalf, such as credit card processing, shipping, email distribution, and promotions management; we provide these companies with only the information they need to perform their services and require them to limit its use to such purposes. We also may share information whenever required by law, or in response to legal process, or when necessary to protect our rights or the rights of others.

Forums, Polls and Member-Provided Content.

As a Jewish Miami Member, you can participate in various online forums, such as The Community PostSM, JewishMiami.TV, message boards, groups, ratings, and polls. All content that you submit to the Site, The Community PostSM and JewishMiami.TV is governed by our Terms of Service. Please be aware that by using any of these features, your username, information that you post in your profile such as your first name and first initial of your last name, ZIP code, your interests, may be accessible to all Members. Jewish Miami has no control over how those users may use your personally identifiable information.

When You “Tell a Friend”:

Jewish Miami makes it easy for you to spread the word about Jewish Miami with its “Tell a Friend” feature. When you use “Tell a Friend,” we may store email addresses or any information about the people you contact.

When You Submit Postings:

We provide The Community PostSM, forums, group discussion fields, private messaging, and comment fields on which you can post messages for others to read. All postings, with the exception messages sent directly to other Members through the Profile Page, are visible to all Members. Sections of your forum postings may also be visible to any visitor to the site. We may collect technical information about your post, such as the IP address from which you posted, and associate this information with your messages. Even if messages are deleted, we may retain copies and attendant information indefinitely.

When You Submit Photos:

We provide applications where you can submit photographs for others to see. All photos that are posted to JewishMiami.org are visible to all Members and can be used by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.

When you submit Video and Audio footage to the Site:

Users of the Site are offered the opportunity to share audio and/or video. In such instances, the usage of material or images submitted is governed by our general Terms of Service, as well as any specific provisions on our Site regarding video.

If individuals agree to allow Jewish Miami to film or make recordings for use on the Site, usage of this video or audio footage will be governed by releases signed by the individuals who permitted Jewish Miami to film or record them.

All audio/video posted to JewishMiami.org will be accessible by all Members and can be used by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Additional provisions relating to audio/video and any other form of content you may submit to our Site are available in our Terms of Service.

When you submit your phone number:

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive text messages from Jewish Federation of Greater Miami. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

Cookies

A cookie is a tiny text file that is stored on your computer by the Site. We use cookies to tailor your experience on our site according to the preferences you have specified. When you visit the Site we only access the cookie file that we have stored on your computer. We cannot and do not access any information stored in a cookie by other websites. Our cookies do not contain any personal identifiable information.

IP Addresses and Log File Data

We log IP addresses, which is the location of your computer or network on the Internet, for systems administration and troubleshooting purposes. We also use page hits in the aggregate to track the popularity of pages that people visit in order to improve the quality of the Site. There is no personally identifiable information collected in our log files.

Information on Children

Because we care about the safety and privacy of children online, we comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA). COPPA and its accompanying FTC regulations establish United States federal law that protects the privacy of children using the Internet. We do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Our site is not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13, and we have designed our sites to block our knowing acceptance of information from children under 13 whenever age-related information is requested.
