Data Operations Analyst
ABOUT THE FEDERATION
The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is a nonprofit that mobilizes human and financial resources to change lives here at home, in Israel and in more than seventy countries around the world. The Federation identifies, supports, and addresses the full range of social service issues, provides humanitarian relief, and sustains the Jewish community. To accomplish these goals, Federation engages thousands of community members and raises and distributes millions of dollars each year. Federation organizes numerous events per year, including seated events with over 1400 participants. The Data Services department serves as the operational backbone of the organization, processing various transactions, including event registrations and payments, new customer creation, and customer updates.
What You Will Do
The focus of this position will be on processing all organizational event registrations and associated payments for registrants and their guests. The analyst will work collaboratively to continuously improve all aspects of the registration processes for donors and staff members. They will proactively increase speed, accuracy and data completeness with standardized work and quality assurance measures.
Your Role
- Using API calls and data imports
- Perform complex mapping of JSON and other data files (including nested files and conditionals)
- Clean, manipulate, and enhance the data.
- Create and operationalize pre- and post-orchestration processing, such as customer matching.
- Create accounts for registrants who are new to our organization and update contact information in bulk using automated processes.
- Create templated reports and dashboards for staff members on key metrics.
Qualifications and Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in data science, computer science or information systems. A minor or secondary degree in industrial engineering or operations management is a plus. Masters in a related field is a plus.
- 2 years of experience using API calls and mapping JSON files.
- 2 years of experience with Excel, Power Query, and M language required.
- 2 years of experience using ETL tools and data cleaning and wrangling.
- Experience with Power BI/Dax, Power Automate and Dataverse, a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL and automated ETL tools; experience with Blackbaud CRM, a plus.
- Ability to design, test, and document repeatable end-to-end processes with a customer-focused orientation.
- Extremely detail oriented while still able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Innovative thinker with ability to generate creative and actionable recommendations.
- Learn technology quickly and independently.
