Agency Support Committee
The Agency Support Committee has oversight responsibility for the beneficiary agencies receiving funding from GMJF. Through an in-depth review process, the ASC establishes the guidelines and oversees the relationship between agencies receiving Federation funding and the Federation. The ASC sets policies and procedures (such as reporting requirements) for agencies and ensures that beneficiary agencies’ programs and services are in line with the Federation vision and constantly striving for excellence. In addition, this committee determines the amounts and reporting requirements of any additional allocations, beyond baseline, made to agencies for programs and services.
• The Agency Support Committee (ASC) is a standing committee of the Federation’s Board.
• The committee’s charge is to build and enhance Federations relationship with its key local agencies, manage the oversight of each agency, discuss communal trends, and identify areas of concern.

• The Financial Review Subcommittee meets monthly to monitor the fiscal health and sustainability of the agencies, and acts as an early warning system to protect our community’s investment.
• The ASC meets 4 times a year (September-April) from 4-6pm at the Greater Miami Jewish federation.
• Subcommittees meet with the senior management and lay leadership at each agency 3 times a year (November-March). Meetings include an update on the state of the agency. The third subcommittee meeting is a review of the agency budget proposal for the following year.
• Each subcommittee has a chair who reports back to the ASC and ensures that key planning issues are appropriately identified and discussed.
• ASC reports to the Planning and Distribution Committee, its work influences the basic funding decisions, and helps guide the community’s planning agenda and strategy.
• At the end of each year planning recommendations developed by ASC and PDC are approved by the Board and help to prioritize the work of the planning department.
To recap, the commitment is a total of 7 meetings of 2 hours each (4 ASC meetings from 4-6pm at Federation, and 3 subcommittee meetings usually at 10:00am at the agency).
