Leadership Development Committee

What is Leadership Development?

The Director, Leadership Development & Staff Training provides strategic counsel and support to the Greater Miami Jewish Federation on the vision, goals, resources and deliverables that will frame the work of the Federation’s human resource development based on trends and best practices in the human resources and leadership development fields for both professional staff and lay leaders. These efforts include:

  • Developing and implementing various leadership development programs to support the development of lay leadership for the Federation as well as other local Jewish organizations.
  • Supporting professional leadership in the agencies, day schools and synagogues throughout the Jewish community through JPRO Miami, the local affiliate of JPRO.
  • Sustaining as well as creating new pipelines for future lay leadership and provides leadership placement services for Federation’s committees**.

**Our placement activities are more specific to the Federation. There are about 900 community members that lead or actively participate in over 50 Federation committees. These committees drive Federation’s work, including governing, steering, planning, reaching out to the community and fundraising.

  1. Assisting with the development and review of a comprehensive set of leadership development programs for emerging and mid-level lay leaders.
  2. Creating ideas and processes in order to help sustain current leadership and develop new pipelines for future Federation leadership.
  3. Providing counsel for professional staff development needs.
The committee typically meets 4-5 times per year.
