Israel & Overseas Committee

The Israel & Overseas Committee strengthens the connection between the Federation and Israel through our work with our overseas partners, the Jewish Agency for Israel, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, and World ORT, as well as through other priority areas. The committee identifies funding priorities and assesses opportunities for philanthropic investment, as well as makes recommendations for the overseas allocations.

The committee seeks to engage the community in a meaningful way through further understanding and involvement with our overseas partners and supported projects. It advocates in the Federation and the community for overseas needs, people-to-people connections with our partnership communities, and various projects in Israel. In addition, the committee addresses community responses to Jewish community needs around the world and supports Israel education and engagement.

It will advocate for the overseas agenda and encourage the work of the Miami-Yerucham Partnership Committee, the Women’s Amutot Initiative Committee, the Ethiopian-Israeli Initiative and other key areas of focus.
