South Dade Branch Board

The primary purpose of the South Dade Branch Board of Directors is to create, coordinate and manage a variety of programs and activities in South Dade, under the aegis of Federation. These programs and activities are designed to both service the Jewish community and enhance the role and image of Federation in our area. Under the leadership of the chair and vice chairs, the Board offers opportunity for responsible leadership within the Federation structure and serves as the primary linkage from the South Dade Jewish community. The Board develops and implements policy and planning for Federation in South Dade and formulates recommendations for action by the Federation Board of Directors. The key areas of activity include the following: Campaign, Community Education, Community Service, Leadership Development, Hands on Volunteer Programming, Agency - Day School – Synagogue - Federation Relations, and Human Resource Outreach. The objectives of the South Dade Branch are as follows: 

• To identify members of the Jewish community in South Dade and determine where they live, 

• To increase awareness, understanding and appreciation of being an active community member,

• To become more knowledgeable about the organized Jewish community which includes our community’s component parts, such as Federation, synagogues, Jewish organizations, and local agencies, 

• To encourage membership and activity in all aspects of the above institutions to establish Federation and its agencies as important aspects of communal life and labor to develop a positive relationship with these institutions, 

• To conduct a thorough campaign in our community, 

• To arouse concern for Jews and Jewish life in Israel, and all over the globe, 

• To demonstrate through personal experiences, the inter-relations and inter-dependence of all Jews, wherever they may be, 

• To identify unmet needs and bring services of Federation and its agencies to the people needing these services, 

• To recruit and help develop community members as leaders in order to increase the reservoir of leadership for Federation and our community through involvement and 

• To create a workable and innovative organizational structure to accomplish all of the above.
