The Consulate General of Italy in Miami and the American Jewish Committee (AJC) invite you to join the Italian and Jewish communities for a solemn and meaningful evening commemorating International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

This special program honors the memory of the Holocaust and reflects on its enduring legacy, bringing together community leaders, scholars, and advocates in remembrance and dialogue.

Reception: Light refreshments and appetizers will be served following the program

This year’s program will feature Professor Gino Segrè, who will discuss his latest book:
The Golden Age of Italian Jews: 1848–1938

Keynote Speaker
Gino Segrè
Professor Emeritus of Physics and Astronomy, University of Pennsylvania

Professor Segrè is the acclaimed author of five books on the history of science, including The Pope of Physics, a New York Times Book Review Editor’s Choice and Bloomberg Best Book of the Year. His work has received national recognition from the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Energy, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation.

Born in Florence and raised in Italy and New York City, Professor Segrè brings a deeply personal and scholarly perspective to the history of Italian Jewry. He lives in Philadelphia with his wife, Bettina Hoerlin.
