Event Details

Description

This dazzling Sephardic multigenerational saga moves from Istanbul to Barcelona, Havana, and New York. Exploring endurance and family as home, this kaleidoscopic portrait of one family’s displacement across four countries follows the joys and losses of Rebecca Cohen, feisty daughter of the Sephardic elite of early 20th century Istanbul. Kantika – “song” in Ladino – explores identity, place, exile, and the tenacity of women. Community Partner: Jewish Community Services and CAJE Department of Adult Learning and Growth.
