Event Details

Description

In 1937 Bombay, renowned Jewish-Indian painter Mira Novak bonds with her Indian-British nurse Sona Falstaff when they meet while Mira is recovering from a miscarriage in the hospital. Within six days, however Mira dies unexpectedly and under mysterious circumstances. The painter leaves three paintings and a cryptic note for Sona, instructing the nurse to deliver them to Mira's former lovers in Prague, Florence, and Paris - where active resistance movements against Nazis and Fascists mirror India's independence movement against British rule. Sona's perilous quest evolves into a poignant journey of hard truths, lies of omission, and self-discovery - as well as the painful answer about how Mira Novak died.
