Description

In Conversation with Congressman Ritchie Torres

The Miami Beach JCC invites you to come to a very special event with Congressman Ritchie Torres on Sunday, May 17 at 11:00 AM.

He will be in conversation with Brooke Goldstein, civil rights attorney, author and award winning filmmaker.

They will speak about Congressman’s Torres’s support of Israel, the Jewish People, the rise of anti-semitism and his stance in the face of a lot of resistance from many members of his own party.

Representative Ritchie Torres, a lifelong Bronx resident, serves New York congressional District 15. He has dedicated his career to fighting for his community. Raised by his single mother in public housing, he experienced firsthand the challenges of poverty and government neglect. Elected in 2013 as New York City’s youngest official and the first openly LGBTQ+ person in the Bronx to hold office, Ritchie passed over 40 pieces of legislation, including key reforms on affordable housing and public health. While serving in Congress, he has shown immense support for Israel and the fight against antisemitism.

Brooke Goldstein is a civil rights attorney, author and award winning filmmaker. She is a regular news commentator as well as the Founder and Executive Director of the Lawfare Project and the End Jew Hatred movement. She is speaking in her personal capacity.
