Description

About Project Heroes
Project Heroes, also known as the Jewish Heroism Experience for Humanity, seeks to shift the narrative of the Jewish people from one of victimhood to one of heroism. Its mission is to illuminate and redefine the timeless principles and values that embody Jewish heroism, reflecting their unique evolution throughout history.
Since launching with the October 7th Heroes Commemoration program, the Heroes Project has rapidly gained prominence and influence worldwide. It has garnered extensive media attention, brought impactful Heroes stories and performances to stages across North America and Israel, and developed meaningful educational initiatives in partnership with respected organizations such as StandWithUs and Taglit-Birthright Israel. The initiative has also earned endorsements from distinguished leaders, most notably Israeli President Itzhak Herzog, who has honored the project in his presidential speeches and contributed the foreword to the official Heroes book.

About Gilad Segev
Gilad Segev is an internationally acclaimed Israeli musician whose numerous top-ten hits have earned him millions of followers worldwide, particularly through his successful "Passerby" project.
In the midst of a global tour when the tragic events of October 7th unfolded, Gilad immediately returned home to Israel. Witnessing first-hand how Israeli society united like never before — through extraordinary generosity, volunteerism, and countless reservists reporting for duty even before being summoned — he knew he had a contribution to make. Gilad channeled his artistic talents into a purposeful mission, using his music to honor ordinary people who displayed extraordinary bravery. This evolved into his broader vision: to ignite a spark within everyone, inspiring each of us to carry this spirit of heroism forward and realize our fullest potential.
Segev’s deep connection to this mission has roots in his earlier work, most notably his acclaimed song, “Achshav Tov,” dedicated to his brother, who lost his life serving in the IDF. The song resonated widely, becoming the most played track on Israeli radio stations that year. In recent months, the song has found new life — rising once again as a stirring anthem of national unity and resilience, echoing across Israel as a source of strength and collective pride in the face of tragedy and war.
Gilad’s personal story is intricately woven with the events and values at the heart of Project Heroes. His father served as a Brigadier General, acting as governor of the Gaza Strip and the last military attaché in Iran. Additionally, he is the child of a mother who is a Holocaust survivor. These profound familial ties deepen Gilad’s perspective, enriching the authenticity and power behind his work.

Rise Up: Heroes Independence Program
Connecting Remembrance with Independence
Rooted in the memory of October 7th, this program bridges commemoration with a celebration of independence. It begins by honoring the heroic acts of those who lost their lives to protect others, each embodying a unique facet of Jewish heroism, and culminates in a celebration of our living heroes today. This journey transforms remembrance into a hopeful experience, uniting the Jewish people through both somber and triumphant moments.
