Event Details

Description

Gil Hoffman will analyze the diplomatic, security and political challenges facing Israel at 75 and how they can be overcome. He will go in depth into the dangers Israel is facing from inaccurate and biased reporting about the Jewish state. He will also engage fairly and objectively into internal Israeli divides and put them into the proper proportion. (But he will stay away from divisive American politics). Finally, he will speak about Israel's successes and why you should be hopeful for its future, in spite of it all.

Gil Hoffman:
Gil Hoffman is the executive director of HonestReporting, which fights for Israel in the international mainstream and social media; a lecturer on political strategy at Israel's College of Management and served as chief political correspondent and analyst for The Jerusalem Post for 24 years. The Algemeiner website recently named him one of the top 100 people positively influencing Jewish life, alongside presidents Biden and Zelensky and prime ministers Sunak and Netanyahu.

He was raised in Chicago, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northwestern University's School of Journalism, and wrote for the Miami Herald and Arizona Republic before moving to Israel.

A reserve soldier in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, he has lectured in every major English-speaking country in the world, more than half the Canadian provinces, and recently made history in Hawaii by becoming the first speaker to have lectured about Israel in all 50 US states. He lives with his family in Jerusalem.

Jacki Alexander:
Jacki Alexander is the CEO of HonestReporting. She’s responsible for driving the strategic vision and direction of the organization.

For the last 15 years, Jacki worked at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) building the base of pro-Israel support across the state of Florida. She created and executed annual fundraising campaigns, mobilized activists, and engaged them through community education and political activism. Most recently, she managed the day-to-day operations of the 2 offices covering 14 states in the southeast US.

She got her MSc in the History of International Relations from the London School of Economics and a BA in History and Religious Studies from the University of Miami.
