Event Details

Description

Even as we live longer than ever before, we underestimate the power of aging itself – both its potential challenges and its potential gifts. Focusing more on what matters most to us as we age can have a profound impact on our own well-being and that of others.

In her book, The Measure of Our Age: Navigating Care, Safety, Money and Meaning Later in Life, M.T. Connolly offers a new map of aging, one that illustrates its practical challenges and society’s unprepared support systems, but also, critically, how aging can be a time of unprecedented growth and profound transformation. The book reveals essential information to anyone trying to find the right care, protect financial security in an era of scams, and balance the dual desires to age with autonomy and safety. Connolly’s stories, research, and her own personal and professional experience underscore again and again that paying close attention to meaning-making and what matters most to us as we age not only enhance our health and well-being but also can protect us from trouble

Please note there will be two events with M.T.:
Thursday, 4/11 7pm -
Conversation and Q & A
Friday, 4/12 11am -
Salon with M.T. Connelly

Attendance is FREE with RSVP.
