The people of Israel are under fire.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation stands resolutely with the courageous people of Israel.

Operation Rising Lion against the Iranian regime began on June 13 as a preemptive defensive action for Israel’s national survival and for global safety and security.

The Greater Miami Jewish Federation is in close contact with our overseas partners. There is a need for cash to assist Israel’s victims of terror now.

While Israel has targeted nuclear facilities, military sites and personnel, Iran has responded with more than 400 ballistic missiles and drones aimed at Israel’s most densely populated civilian areas.

The projectiles that have evaded Iron Dome defenses have caused significant destruction in neighborhoods in Haifa, Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Petach Tikvah, Rehovot, Bat Yam and Tamra, leaving death and devastation in their wake.

Thousands of people have been displaced, their homes destroyed. There is widespread trauma and panic due to the ongoing sirens and attacks.

The elderly and disabled, who are unable to reach shelters quickly, are suffering. There is no end to the hostilities in the foreseeable days as this war unfolds in the shadow of October 7 and the national grief over the fate of the remaining hostages held for more than 620 days.
