Impact Data & Evaluation Analyst

Position:

Working cooperatively with professionals and lay leadership, the Impact Data & Evaluation Analyst is responsible for gathering and analyzing financial and impact data to inform decision making and assist in the financial oversight, evaluation, and support of Federation’s beneficiary agencies and day schools.

This position reports to the Director of Community Planning.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Interact directly with Agency and Day School finance departments in order to:
    • Ensure timely receipt of monthly financial statements and statistics
    • Identify areas of concern and assist in plans for remediation
    • Support the implementation of best financial practices at Agencies and Day Schools
    • Review and analyze financial statements and budget submissions
  • Prepare financial/written analysis in approved format
  • Collect and maintain Agency and Day School financial and program statistics
  • Research and develop models to report outcome measurements
  • Research best practices in the field and assist in the development of programmatic and financial impact measurement and evaluation
  • Analyze agency and communal data to glean insights about strategies, impact, and possible gaps in services
  • Research and analyze costs and benefits of consolidations or efficiencies in purchasing and staffing and oversee implementation
  • Provide information and accounting support for the Planning department programs
  • Support the allocations distribution process
  • Generate ad-hoc reports as required
  • Staff volunteer committees as required
  • Participate in financial resource development efforts including the preparation of proposals, participation in solicitations and other campaign duties as appropriate

Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; finance or accounting highly preferred
  • Five + years of relevant experience in Jewish communal, non-profit, public sector or related field
  • Exceptional analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively and effectively with executive management, volunteer leaders and colleagues
  • Advanced computer skills including strong knowledge of Excel and familiarity with financial software packages. Microsoft Power Query and Power BI preferred.
  • Passion for the mission of Federation and the Jewish community
  • Detail oriented self-starter with ability to follow up
  • Able to meet tight deadlines, multi-task, and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • The salary for this role will be determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, experience, qualifications, and unique skills.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including generous vacation and sick time, Jewish holidays, health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, parental leave policy, and complimentary membership to the Jewish Community Center.

Schedule:

  • Federation offers a hybrid work schedule with four days a week in the office and one day remote.
  • The position may periodically require work outside typical business hours of 8:30-5:15/8:30-4:00 on Fridays and the eve of Jewish holidays.
