Brian M. Sagrestano, J.D., CFRE

Brian M. Sagrestano is President and founder of Gift Planning Development, a full-service gift-planning consulting firm based in New Hartford, N.Y. He provides gift-planning services to a wide range of charitable clients from leading national organizations to local charities.

Sagrestano collaborated with Viken Mikaelian of PlannedGiving.Com to develop Gift Essentials and Planned Giving in a Box®, programs that have made gift planning accessible to a full range of charities. He previously served as a charitable gift planner, directing programs for the University of Pennsylvania, Middlebury College and Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations.

The Philanthropic Planning Companion, Sagrestano’s first book with co-author Robert E. Wahlers, CFRE, won the 2013 AFP Skystone Partners Prize for Research on Fundraising and Philanthropy. He also has contributed articles on planned giving to many professional publications, including Planned Giving Today, Planned Giving Mentor, Advanced Philanthropy and Planned Giving Tomorrow.

Sagrestano is a past board member of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning (PPP), the Gift Planning Council of New Jersey, and PPP of Greater Philadelphia. He also is a past editorial board member of the Journal of Gift Planning.
