2011 Ben-Gurion Society Event Honors the Future of Jewish Philanthropy

Rabbi Yonah Bookstein and Naomi Wilzig spoke at the 2011 Ben-Gurion Society Event at the World Erotic Art Museum.

More than 120 of Miami’s young Jewish philanthropists turned out for the 2011 Ben-Gurion Society Event, which recognized donors ages 25 to 45 who make a gift of $1,000 or more to the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign.

This yearly event was held at the World Erotic Art Museum (WEAM) in Miami Beach and was co-chaired by Lisa Kudish and Mark Kravitz. The evening was hosted by Naomi Wilzig, President and Founder of WEAM and a longtime supporter of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and other Jewish causes.

The program featured a keynote address and question-and-answer session on “Sex, Love and Relationships” with Rabbi Yonah Bookstein, whose work with JConnect and Jewlicious Festivals has been about making Judaism hip, exciting and approachable for young people.

Lisa Kudish framed the theme for this sold-out event as “stepping outside of your comfort zone, and doing so together as a community. From visiting the World Erotic Art Museum to opening our eyes to the needs in the world, from taking an active role as a community volunteer and advocating to increasing our individual gifts to the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign; it’s about empowering one another, sharing our collective strength, and supporting the many people who depend on us.”
