Young Leaders Deliver Toys to Children at Beit Issie Shapiro in Israel

Children at Federation-funded Beit Issie Shapiro in Israel received special gifts last month, when two buses of YLD (Young Leadership Division) members traveling on the Israel 75 Miami Mega Mission visited their facilities and brought them educational toys and games. With support from the Annual Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign, Beit Issie Shapiro is Israel’s leading developer and provider of innovative therapies and state-of-the-art services for children and adults across the entire range of disabilities, impacting more than half a million people annually. During the Mega Mission, participants visited the Special Education School in Ra’anana and the Sindian Center in Kalansua, where they met with clients and delivered the gifts. “The children have been excited to play with their new games, and our teachers and therapists are thrilled to have these additional therapeutic tools in their classrooms and therapy sessions,” said Danelle Rubin of Beit Issie Shapiro. The toy-gifting effort was spearheaded by Lindsey Spiegelman, Young Leadership Division’s Leadership Development Institute Co-Chair and Mega Mission Bus 13 Captain.
