Elie Wiesel, z”l, Honored With Street Naming in Miami Beach

Visitors to the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach and the surrounding area will be reminded of the many contributions of Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Holocaust Survivor Elie Wiesel, z”l, now that a Miami Beach street has been renamed for him. Earlier this week on the heels of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, a stirring street-renaming ceremony took place in Wiesel’s memory with many elected officials, community leaders and residents in attendance. The new street, called Elie Wiesel Way, is located at the northeast corner of Pride Park, 1700 Convention Center Drive. Miami Beach Commissioner David Richardson led the drive to rename the street. "Elie Wiesel's life was not only about telling the Jewish story during World War II — it was about bearing witness to man's inhumanity to man so that we may never repeat it," said Commissioner Richardson. "It is our honor to recognize Mr. Weisel with this permanent Miami Beach landmark."
