Federation Partners Are Making a Difference in Haiti

It has been nearly two weeks since the devastating earthquake in Haiti and the island nation needs our help more than ever. The 7.2 magnitude tremor left more than 2,200 dead and more than 600,000 people in urgent need of assistance. Federation’s Haiti Earthquake Relief Fund is supporting the efforts of our on-the-ground partners responding to tragedy. The American Joint Distribution Committee is building a medical clinic and has distributed life-saving medical supplies to the area; IsraAID is distributing water filters, hygiene kits and solar lights and is training teachers to use the water filters and CADENA has emergency medical teams in Haiti treating victims of the earthquake. If you have not yet made a donation to the relief efforts and would like to be a part of the Jewish community’s response to the disaster in Haiti, please click here.
