Helping to Heal October 7 Survivors

Federation is assisting thousands of traumatized survivors of the October 7 terrorist attack. Within the first weeks of the Israel-Hamas war, Federation-funded ELI Wartime Response began providing vital trauma relief, as well as long-term therapeutic intervention, impacting 2,000 survivors and evacuees. In addition to grants from JFNA's national Israel Emergency Fund (IEF), Federation allocated dollars from our local IEF. The program established trauma centers in hotels housing survivors, prioritizing urgent psychological stabilization in an effort to prevent long-term psychological damage. Two hundred cases were also identified that required intensive, long-term support.
