Hebrew Free Loan Association Increases Loans Amounts for Israel Educational Programs

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of Miami (HFLA) has increased personal loan amounts for Israel educational programs such as March of the Living and Alexander Muss High School in Israel. The Federation program, which offers year-round interest-free loans to Jewish individuals and families, has raised personal loans from up to $5,000 to up to $8,000 to help cover the cost for families wishing to provide their children with meaningful one-time Israel summer experiences. HFLA extends loans to cover personal, business, emergency, adoption and fertility expenses, with a grace period of three months before payback begins. HFLA Chair Jaclyn Bergman says, “We want people to really feel good and supported by our Jewish community. And it’s a testament to our community that the vast majority of loans are paid back quickly to enable the next person to benefit.” Since the inception of HFLA, more than $4 million has been distributed through over 1,500 interest-free loans.
