Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach Events During Women’s History Month

Throughout March, Women’s History Month, the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach is presenting a series of virtual programs about women during the Shoah, beginning with an event on Wednesday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Dr. Michael Berenbaum, world-renowned historian, Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute and Professor of Jewish Studies at American Jewish University, will discuss the topic “When Families Disappeared: Camp Schvesters (Sisters)” via the Zoom program. Whether or not they lost families during the Holocaust, many Jewish women and girls formed “families” with other women. These sisterhoods were particularly important inside concentration camps, where the bonds formed between women often helped them survive constant danger. The Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach is a Committee of Federation.
