Federation Promotes Religious Diversity in Israel

Federation is helping Israelis exercise choice and self-determination around their Jewish identities and practice as a member of iRep, the Israel Religious Expression Platform comprised of 25 Jewish federations and foundations. At the end of October, the iRep committee approved grants totaling $410,000 to be distributed to nine projects of Israeli grassroots organizations working in the field of religious diversity. The initiatives are focused in increasing accessibility around a full range of options for celebrating life cycle ceremonies and Jewish holidays. Examples include promoting choice in marriage ceremonies and creating meaningful b’nai mitzvah experiences for all streams of Jewish culture and tradition. Our Federation has been supporting iRep for the past seven years. To learn more about these newly funded initiatives, click here.
