Federation New Israeli Division Strengthens Jewish Community

Are you an Israeli American living in Miami looking for ways to get involved in the community? Federation recently launched a new Israeli Division to connect the growing population of Israelis in Miami with the larger Jewish community, engage participants with Federation programs and share Federation’s mission. "It is a chance to bridge the gap between our experiences in Israel and [our lives] here in Miami," said Ofer Tamir, Chair of the Israeli Division. "When we were in Israel, we didn't have to work hard to have a Jewish life. We knew when it was Shabbat, Purim, Chanukah — it was all around us. Here, we have to work harder to create that life. This is an exciting opportunity for our Miami Israeli community to strengthen its identity, volunteer and give back to those in need.” For more information, contact Israeli Division Director Assaf Shami at [email protected].
