Israeli Group Tararam to Perform at The Main Event

They’ve performed at the Olympic and Maccabia Games, for Israeli President Shimon Peres’ birthday celebration with world leaders such as former President Bill Clinton, and at countless other events and galas around the globe. On Thursday, February 24, Israeli music and dance group Tararam will take to the stage as the entertainment highlight of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation 2011 Main Event.

Through captivating performances incorporating rhythm, drums, dance, lights, music and more, Tararam has made its way into the heart of Israeli culture and thrilled crowds around the globe by offering audiences an exciting and inspiring multi-sensory experience like no other in the world. This high-energy group exemplifies a young and fresh perspective on Israeli performance art, delivering an unforgettable experience to their audiences. See Tararam in action.

The Main Event is the largest annual community gathering hosted by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation. Each year, more than 1,200 people gather to socialize and to help Jewish people in need through their support of the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign.

This year’s Main Event, chaired by Janet and Richard Yulman, will offer many exciting elements. In addition to the performance by Tararam, the evening will feature a keynote address by Dan Senor, co-author of the New York Times bestseller, Start-Up Nation: The Story of Israel’s Economic Miracle. An expert on Israeli-Palestinian relations, Middle East geopolitics, security and economics, Senor writes in his book about how Israel produces more start-up companies than large, peaceful and stable nations like Japan, China, India, Korea, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Another highlight of The Main Event will be the presentation of the Friend of Israel Humanitarian Award to Stephen and Sandra Muss, As prominent philanthropists and leaders in Miami’s Jewish community, the Musses are pillars of the Annual Federation/UJA Campaign, demonstrating profound support for Israel and the Jewish people.

The Main Event will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami. Non-tax-deductible couvert is $90 per person, and a minimum gift of $1,000 per person to the 2011 Greater Miami Jewish Federation/UJA Campaign is suggested. Members of the community under age 30 are invited to attend with a suggested minimum gift of $365 to the 2011 Federation/UJA Campaign.
