Help Our Community Prepare for Hurricane Season

June 1 marked the first day of 2020 Hurricane Season and the Greater Miami Jewish Federation Jewish Volunteer Center is preparing to help our community plan ahead for storms, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. The Jewish Volunteer Emergency Response Team (JVERT) is looking for people with a “can-do” attitude to deliver meals, remove debris and provide support, comfort and more. The Greater Miami Jewish Federation, its Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) and the Rabbinical Association of Greater Miami (RAGM) are horrified and saddened over the mass shooting in Sydney, Australia, targeting the Jewish community during a Hanukkah celebration and murdering at least 11 people and injuring dozens more.
