Join South Florida PBS and Federation for a sneak preview of The US and the Holocaust, a new documentary by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein on Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 p.m. in Coral Gables. Following clips from the film, which premieres on WPBT and WXEL on Sunday, September 18 at 8 p.m., moderator Pam Giganti, host of South Florida PBS’ Your South Florida, will lead a panel discussion around the core themes raised in the work, such as immigration policy, racism, isolationism, discrimination and more. The panel includes Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute; Dr. Miriam Klein Kassenoff, Director of the Holocaust Teacher Education Institute at University of Miami; Dr. Haim Shaked, Founding Director of the Sue and Leonard Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies; and Dr. Nicole Freeman, Director of Education at the Holocaust Memorial Miami Beach, a Committee of Federation.
