Federation Hosts Second Kosher Food Drive-Thru

Kosher Food

More than 1,000 members of Miami’s Jewish community received free kosher food last week at the second Kosher Food Distribution Drive-Thru organized by the Greater Miami Jewish Federation and its Jewish Volunteer Center. Working with Jewish Community Services of South Florida, our primary human service agency, Feeding South Florida, the Sol Taplin Charitable Foundation and Temple Emanu-El, 18 volunteers helped load packages of fresh food including kosher meat, rolls, locally grown fruits and vegetables and non-perishables into the trunks of 300 vehicles — some arriving as early as 5 a.m. The next food drive will take place on August 20 at the Alper JCC Miami.
